"Art is a line around your thoughts" ~ Gustav Klimt
Simia Talai was born in Lausanne, Switzerland and began her art career without permission at the age of 2, using her mother's lipsticks to paint all the walls of the apartment. Art was a passion since, with some training but mostly self-taught. Simia worked as an international human rights activist for 20 years, traveling extensively (always a sketchbook and colours in her bag). She fell Iove with East Africa, settling there 12 years, where she began painting murals in her Uganda home, and then for embassies, hotels & private homes in Kenya & Zanzibar.

She loves exploring spiritual connections through powerful subjects, wildlife, divinity, using symbolism, design, strong colors often with gold, for its ethereal magic, evoking a myriad of emotions. S
Simia established a banana tree paper making enterprise, Kahesa Paper, in Kenya to employ the intellectually challenged, and later in Zanzibar, Kahesa Zanzibar, to provide art therapy for children with Down syndrome & autism.

Simia has exhibited her paintings in various high end venues in Lausanne, and takes commissions (paintings & murals). Her most popular paintings are often available in print.
